My husband and I are both addicted to these apple cider vinegar pickled onions and are part of my weekly meal prep. I love to spend a few hours on the weekends prepping a few sides to add pizazz to our weekly meals and these are always on the list.

Why use Apple Cider Vinegar for Pickled Onions?

Apple cider vinegar is known for its health benefits, including aiding digestion and balancing blood sugar levels. When paired with the sweetness of onions, it creates a harmonious balance of flavors that’s hard to resist. Pickled onions add a delightful tanginess and crunch to your meals, and the vibrant pink color will instantly brighten up any plate.

Also, Apple cider vinegar has a more complex, slightly fruity, and milder flavor compared to regular white vinegar, which can be sharp and harsh. The subtle sweetness and acidity of ACV pair wonderfully with vegetables like onions, cucumbers, and carrots, creating a more rounded and balanced pickle. This mildness makes it an excellent choice for pickling because it doesn’t overpower the natural flavors of the ingredients but enhances them with a delicate tanginess.
